Shaju Puthoor
Born in 1966 as the first son of
noted Malyalam writer, Unnikrishnan Puthoor and Mariyil Vellathery Thankamany
Amma.Passed M A Malayalam and BEd from the University of Calicut, Kerala. Working as Higher Secondary School Teacher (Malayalam) in Santha
Higher Secondary School, Avanur, Thrissur, Kerala from 1992 and resigned as principal in 2022. Received the State Teacher
Award instituted by the Government of Kerala in 2011. The Government of India
also awarded National Teachers’ award to Shaju Puthoor in 2015. Receipient of
Seethi Sahib Memorial Award, instituted by the Seethi Sahib Trust in memory of
the former Speaker of Kerala Legislative Assembly and The Golden Jubilee Award
of Sahrudaya Vedi, a cultural organization based in Thrissur in 2017 and G.Karthikeyan (former speaker) Memorial Award in the year 2022.
Currently working as a member of the editorial board of 'Bhakthapriya' magazine published by Guruvayur Devaswam , as a member of the Advisory board of Guruvayur Devaswam Library, as a member of Sahithya Pravarthaka Sahakarana Sangham(SPCS), Kerala, as a member of Samastha Kerala Sahithya Parishath, Cochin , as a former member of the Thrissur District Advisory body of Vidhyarangam, as a former member of the Publication Committee of Kerala Balasahithya Insititute, Kerala and former executive member of Kerala Sahithya Academy.
